I have been itching to play around with the Bacon & Chive Biscuits from Bare Root Mornings for a long, long time now and I’m very glad I finally did.
While the recipe from the book yields a great savory (plain or otherwise) biscuit, this sweet variation is so perfect for desserts. Since I don’t care for a very sweet dessert, the slight sweetness of the shortcake is best offset with ripe, seasonal strawberries and unsweetened cream.
